Panarea
Panarea a tiny
island without roads, between Lipari and Stromboli, so beloved
by the beautiful people "from Italy" who escape there for a
few carefree weeks every summer.
The island, the small islands (Basiluzzo, Dattilo and Lisca
Bianca) and the islets (Bottaro, Lisca nera, Panarelli and Le
Formiche) make Panarea one of the most scenic and enchanting
places. Typical Aeolian white houses perched around the
churches next to lavic rock or hidden amongst century-old
olive trees offer the most beautiful contrasts of colour.
There are some small hotels, trattorias and cafes but little
to mar a summers day idyll.
It is the perfect island retreat surrounded by clear blue
water.
