Rising superbly on the crest of the hill which houses Taormina and with unrivalled views over the sea and Mount Etna the elegant world famous Four Seasons San Domenico Palace began life in the fifteenth century as a Domenican monastery.

Converted in 1896 into a luxury hotel, little of the original atmosphere has been lost in this transformation. The richly carpeted corridors were once cloisters and many antique furnishings remain. The luxurious bedrooms and suites are located in two wings, the original convent wing and the Grand wing (added in 1896). The lofty reception rooms include a cosy lounge and bar.

Outside, steps lead down through the exotic terraced gardens to the secluded swimming pool and sun terrace. In summer guests can choose to dine at any of the hotel's 3 excellent restaurants two of which are outdoor.
