During the ascent different kinds of vegetation can be noted. Flowering, fertile citrus groves, vineyards, fruit trees and orchards, chestnut, beech and pine woods spread right up to the highest point. Then it is almost desert-like, where the lava is sometimes overgrown by juniper bushes and astragalus. Visit of the extinct Silvestri Craters at 2,000 m. Optional ascent to 2,750 m by cable car and jeep (extra cost payable locally).

A complete discovery of Mount Etna. Our tour will take you first to the Alcantara Gorges - an impressive sight - where you can walk along the solidfied basalt riverbed (entry fee not included) and afterwards to the Mediaeval town of Randazzo, where we take a special old train called "Circumetnea" to Adrano, following the foot of Etna. Departure to the port of Milazzo and boarding to Lipari. Stop at the port Marina Lunga, time at disposal to visit the archaeological zone (optional) or the old town centre. Around midday departure by boat for a circumnavigation of Lipari, admiring enchanting bays and steep cliffs with a large variety of colours. Arrival at Vulcano and visit the ancient "Grotte dell'Allume". Time at disposal for lunch (optional), shopping or for a visit to the mud baths and thermal waters for which the island is famous.

Ecxcursion by coach to the harbour of Milazzo. From there by private motorboat to the attractive island of Panarea. Afternoon departure by boat to Stromboli with time to explore the island until sunset. Light dinner on board. Visit to the "Sciara del Fuoco" by night admiring the volcano's activity from the sea. Departure to Milazzo, boarding and transfer to Panarea. Stop at the port of S. Pietro to allow visit of the town, swimming or lunch (optional). Departure from Panarea and transfer to Stromboli. Boarding and departure to the Sciara del Fuoco to admire the breathtaking night activity. During the crossing, a typical "Aeolian maccheronata", accompanied by local wine, water and bread, will be offered.

Departure to Monreale, nearby Palermo. Visit of the Cathedral, one of the most refined Arab-Norman buildings. Free time for a coffee or to enjoy the beautiful garden with an amazing view over the of "Conca d'Oro Valley". Continuation to Palermo. We will discover the historical center, walking through the typical open-air market of "Ballarò", to reach "Casa Professa", one of the most important baroque churches in Italy. We will admire the beautiful "Pretoria Fountain" and the Townhall.
Free time, in Politeama Square, for lunch (optional), or to go shopping. Continuation to Palermo Opera House "Teatro Massimo". In the afternoon visit of the Palermo's Cathedral, and the Capuchin Catacombs renowed for the thousands of mummies inside.

Departure to Siracusa. The visit begins with the Neapolis archaeological park, the most characteristic part of the old Greek city (Greek theatre, Latomia del Paradiso, Ear of Dionysius, Roman amphitheatre). Continuation to Ortigia with the remains of the earliest Greek constructions. The greatest and most singular monument of Ortigia is the cathedral of Syracusa which rises on the highest point of the peninsula. One of the most famous spots in Ortigia is the Fountain of Arethusa, a freshwater spring forming a pool with papyrus plants, situated on a wide terrace overlooking the sea.
Afterwards, visit of the ancient baroque town Noto, one of the most important in Sicily.

This delightful landscape excursion takes you for a walking tour through peaceful streets and churches of Savoca and Forza d'Agrò, both used in the shooting of "The Godfather". Our first stop is Savoca. Visit of the fascinating catacombs of the Cappuccini Convent and the church Santa Maria degli Angeli. Walk to the central square and continuation to Forza d'agrò, a charming medieval village overlooking the coastline towards Messina and the Straits. Free time at disposal.

Departure toward the area in which the fiction "Inspector Montalbano" is set. Visit of the beautiful Piazza Duomo of Ragusa Ibla, with its Baroque church of San Giorgio, which represents the main square of Vigata, the imaginary village of Montalbano, and continues with San Giuseppe, Palazzo Donnafugata, Circolo Conversazione, where "Gli arancini di Montalbano" and "The Scent of the Night" were filmed. Continue to Punta Secca ("Marinella" in the fiction) to visit externally the "House of Montalbano2, nearby the sandy beach where he used to swim (possibility to take a bath at Montalbano's bay). Continue to Donnalucata, the set of the episode "The shape of water". Afterward we will reach the Baroque village of Scicli. Short walk for visiting the beautiful baroque historical center ("Montelusa" during the fiction), then arrival at "Palazzo Comunale", Vigata's police station, and "Palazzo Iacono", Police headquarters. Possibility to visit the main room "Montalbano's office" (entrance fee not included).

At 9:00 am appointment with chef Massimo at Porta Messina for a little coffee break. The tour will begin at the Taormina market with the explanation of the displayed products and how they can be handled. After the explanation, we buy the ingredients that we need for the lesson. After reaching the restaurant, the participants will find an already prepared table with all the tools on and will be equipped with an apron. We will start making home-made pasta with a very traditional method. After the fresh pasta we proceed to make "home-made Caponata" with the vegetables that we bought at the market. During the lesson we will prepare many other dishes of the Sicilian culinary tradition such as fresh sardines, zucchini flowers and more.
Once finished the course, all participants will sit at a table for tasting the prepared dishes and different Sicilian wines and liquors. Mineral water and coffee included, of course! To all guests will be released a nice recipe in english and a certificate of participation from the Chef.

This splendid landscape excursion takes you to the Peloritani Mountains passing through typical little villages of the Etna. You can see typical pastoral life and taste the local Sicilian specialities and wine in Argimusco. This unusual excursion takes us along the coast line, crossing luxuriant gardens and typical villages like Fiumefreddo di Sicilia. We leave the coast and go towards Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa enjoying the typical landscape of Etna, reaching 800 meters above sea level. We will pass over ancient and more recent lava flows until reaching a renowned winery, where the professional explanations of a wine expert will lead us towards an amazing tasting of different wines.
We will continue our tour towards Castiglione di Sicilia, a typical middle aged village built on top of a mountain. The visit will start by admiring the Cathedral of San Pietro erected during the Norman period. We will walk through the historical center with its typical streets and their baroque buildings.
